31 Years — Great Careers!
Thank you, students and employers, for making 31 years of success with Challenge!
The Challenge Consortium began 31 years ago when career services professionals from several regional liberal arts schools formed a group to help their students connect with employers seeking to hire talented graduates. Challenge events provide a wide range of employers an opportunity to meet some of the brightest young people from Virginia’s prestigious liberal arts institutions. The premiere event, typically held in November, was the Challenge Job and Internship Fair, which enjoyed much success from students and employers alike. Over the years, over 700 organizations participated in the fair, and many of our students received job and internship offers from top area companies.
In an effort to stay current with trends, the Challenge Consortium is refocusing the traditional job and internship fair. In 2013, we held a very successful networking and informational fair focusing on careers with Federal agencies. More than 200 students and many agencies attended. In 2014, the Challenge Consortium will host the Commerce Job & Internship Fair on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at the Kirkley Hotel and Conference Center in Lynchburg, VA. This year’s Challenge Fair will focus on commerce-related industries, such as marketing, real estate, agribusiness, insurance, investment banking, accounting, retail, and many more industry areas!
In March 2015, Career Premiere will be held in Roanoke, VA and students from Challenge institutions are encouraged to attend.
